On my way down to HCMC to visit Mary, who had just received very threatening information of possibly a ruptured spleen and a punctured lung, (but in actuality 8 broken ribs and a severely bruised arm), I was in distress, not knowing just what may lie ahead. Both of us are in our 90’s…a very dangerous period of life…
When I turned on the CD player in the car and heard myself singing (in our recorded CD for nursing homes)… “I don’t know about tomorrow; I just live from day to day.” That was God’s word for me, coming on at just that moment. He is with me, whether on the mountain top or “in the valley” as in Psalm 23.
Ever since that moment, during these weeks that have had their stress, I have had that assurance of God’s presence. He knows my days, I only have to live in them, one day at a time as He walks with me.
