He is 22 years old and currently working on his master’s degree. Our other 2 kids are Aariyan (9 years old) and Raveena (5 years old) who keep us very busy. Our family enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling and playing Skip-bo!

Day 23 (3/15)

Scripture Reading: Luke 19:1-4

1 Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

Song: “Zacchaeus was a wee little man and a wee little man was he…”

I remember this song as a little girl. The song shares of a little tax collector who was so excited to see Jesus, climbing a tree and Jesus coming to his home. There is a lot more we can learn from the story of Zacchaeus. Just in these four versus, we can see that Zacchaeus desired to know Jesus and didn’t allow his “shortness” to come in the way of seeing him. Zacchaeus took action by running ahead of the crowd and climbed a sycamore tree just to see Jesus.

Challenge: Does your heart desire to know Jesus? What will you do to know Jesus better? What may be in the way of you “seeing” Jesus?

Prayer: Lord give me a heart to desire to know you better.  Help me to remove barriers in my life that may be keeping me from “seeing” and knowing you better.
