Excelsior Covenant’s Worship Ministry has five teams that all work together to glorify God through music, visual arts, and tech.

Praise and worship plays an integral part of who we are as a church and we have many ways for you to worship God and use your talents.

Check out some ways to you can get involved:

Worship Team

The Worship Team is made up of lay people who have a passion to lead the generations into worship through music.  It is for the people by the people!

Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:45pm. 

Sunday soundcheck starts at 8:15-8:30am; depending on which teams are leading that week.

Commitment Expectations: Musicians serve 1–3 times monthly (scheduled quarterly). Setlists are sent before rehearsals, with both group and individual prep. Occasional brass ensembles are included.

Getting Started: Attend a few rehearsals to see if it’s a good fit. Music and playlists are provided to help you learn current Sunday songs.

Teams are scheduled in advance and vary each week. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings (during the school year) and at 8:00 am on Sundays.

Worship Choir

Who It’s For: Singers ages 13+ who love to sing (no sight-reading required).

About the Choir: A worship choir singing SATB music ranging from anthems to calls to prayer, serving to worship God and bless the congregation.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:30–7:45 pm (September–May)

Serving Opportunities: Sing in worship services about every other week, plus a special Christmas choir in December.

Handbell Choir

Who It’s For: Musicians ages 15+ with sight-reading skills.

About the Handbell Choir: Plays a variety of arrangements to worship God and bless the congregation.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 5:30–6:30 pm (as scheduled for upcoming services)

Serving Opportunities: Participates in worship services occasionally (about once per quarter).

Tech Team 

Who It’s For: Creatives who enjoy serving behind the scenes in worship.

About the Tech Team: A team passionate about leading worship in person and online. Roles include Audio, Video, and Media.

Rehearsals & Schedule: 

September - May: Wednesdays 7:30–8:45pm

Summer:  combined rehearsal and soundcheck: Sundays 8:15am

Visual Arts Team 

About the Visual Arts Team: Enhances the sanctuary and gathering spaces through art, décor, and media.

Schedule: Installations change throughout the year, with larger displays during Lent/Easter and Advent/Christmas.
