Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What types of music will we sing in a converged worship style?
A. We started leaning into this approach with our summer services, but we are still learning and
growing. You will experience more breadth in style and music across more generations. You will
experience a mix of hymns to modern day artists and everything in between.
Q. Will we still have a choir? If so, during which service will the choir participate?
A. Yes, we will continue to enjoy the choral gifts of the choir and this new worship schedule will
allow the choir to perform at both services.
Q. What is the Lighthouse Big Group?
A. This time will be leveraged by the children’s ministry team to create an age-appropriate
experience for kids in 1st thru 6th Grade; high-energy, age-appropriate storytelling, etc. Children
will worship with their family and then have an opportunity to attend the Big Group. Note –
childcare will still be offered during the worship services for kids Kindergarten and younger.
Q. Who will lead the Lighthouse Big Group Time?
A. This time will be facilitated by the Children’s Ministry Director (Ed Jenkins) in partnership with
the children’s ministry team and other volunteer leaders.
Q. Will Lighthouse Big Group be offered every Sunday?
A. Lighthouse Big Group will be offered three Sundays/month. The first Sunday of every month
will be dedicated to an all-church experience, including kids of all ages. Instead of Lighthouse,
there will be a children’s message during the service.
Q. Is Lighthouse Big Group attendance an expectation of my kids?
A. If you prefer your child(ren) continue worship with you in the sanctuary, this is okay.
Lighthouse Big Group is meant to be an opportunity for kids to experience a more age appropriate
message, but by no means an expectation.
Q. What about all of the resources we invested in for the activity center?
A. These resources will continue to be utilized throughout the year during all-church
events/gatherings (i.e. Welcome Home Sunday, Confirmation Sunday)
Q. How will the kids transition from Lighthouse Big Group to the appropriate formation
A. Parents will pick up their kids immediately following each service. Following the 9:00 am service,
parents will also take their kids to their applicable small group time.
