June 14 - 18, 2021
9:00 - 11:30am
ages 4 (by June 1st) - current 4th graders
We are busy planning, and we can’t wait to see you! Here are a few things you need to know about Vacation Bible School (VBS) this year:
- Everything (other than restrooms) will be outside! This will allow plenty of space to spread out.
- We are starting at half capacity, with our planning based on current guidelines. As restrictions ease and we have enough volunteers, we plan to increase that number.
Who can volunteer? Current ECC members, attenders, and preschool parents (with a reference from the preschool director), 5th grade and up. Background checks will be required for adults who are station or crew leaders – working directly with the kids. Click here to sign up or email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
FAQ's for kids and volunteers
We will follow state guidelines and make a final decision at the time of the event. Our hope in having it outside is that at least the kids will not have to wear masks unless coming inside to use the restroom. A final decision will be emailed to all participants and volunteers the week prior to VBS.
As of right now we are planning on serving snacks. Our expert snack crew (they’ve been doing this for many years!) will take all precautions necessary. Should you feel uncomfortable with your child having a snack we provide, you are more than welcome to send one along!
If your child has any food allergies/sensitivities, we can accommodate gluten, dairy and nuts/peanuts. There is a place to indicate that on the registration form.
No! We divide kids into crews based on ages/grades. Those who are 4 through entering K will join everyone for the large opening time, and then go in their own age appropriate track for activities.
When you register, you are committing to attending the full week. If your child is unable to attend the full week, Backyard VBS at your own schedule will be the best fit this year.
