We are nearing the end of the Lenten “journey.” In Luke, there are only a few verses between the story of Zacchaeus and the Palm Sunday procession. People like him had no idea what the next week would hold for themselves or this man Jesus they had come to love.
There is never another word about Zacchaeus in the Bible, but we assume he continued his path of transformation. Maybe you have yet to begin traveling this path with Jesus, or maybe you have been on the road for many years. Wherever you find yourself, may the upcoming week increase your desire to be transformed by Him, to be more like Him. Jesus loves you and is calling you by name to come down from your comfortable “tree” and take the next step of faith.
Challenge: What might the next step of faith look like for you? What comfort zone may Jesus be trying to stretch for you?
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for calling me by name. Help me take the next step on my path of being transformed by You.
