Care Ministries

Parish Nurse Ministry

Our Parish Nurse, Connie Volling, is available to help you with your health-related issues. Please feel free to contact her (ext. 116) to inform her of upcoming surgeries or hospitalizations. Blood pressure screening will be offered periodically and will be announced in the bulletin.

Caring Friends

Do you like people, like to visit, have a little time to share with others? If you answered “yes”, then Caring Friends ministry is for you! Parish Nurse Ministry began Caring Friends as a way to extend a caring hand to someone who may need a word of encouragement or to share a cup of coffee with a friend. If you have an hour a week or even a month, and would like to join this new ministry, we need your help! You set up the visits at your convenience. Your ministry as a Caring Friend will be the hands of Christ. For more information, pick up a brochure in the Welcome Center or call Connie Volling, 952-474-2537 (ext. 116).

Stephen Ministry

Do you need someone to talk with confidentially? We all experience challenges in life when we could benefit from the support of a caring Christian friend. Stephen Ministers are ready to provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty. This is a confidential ministry. If you would like more information about Stephen Ministry, please contact Pat Haarstad, 952-221-3272 or Connie Volling at 952-474-2537 (ext. 116).

GriefShare

Have you experienced the loss of someone close to you through death recently, or maybe it was a long time ago and you’re still feeling the pain of grief. It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, a child, sibling, parent, or friend, you’ve probably found that there are not many people who feel the deep hurt you feel. Grief Share is a video seminar series that features some of the nation’s foremost Christian experts on grief and recovery topics as seen from a Biblical perspective, as well as average people who share from their heart about their own grief.  The video seminars are combined with time for sharing and group discussion. Video speakers include: Dr. John Trent, Joni Erickson Tada, Anne Graham Lotz and many others.

A grief support group can help you:

• Find understanding, encouragement and support as you continue to adjust to the loss of your loved one.

• Share experiences with others who are grieving.

• Learn helpful ways to cope with feelings and memories.

• Explore new ways to preserve special memories while “moving on.”

• Discover new roles and responsibilities for oneself.

For more information, visit their website at www.griefshare.org, pick up one of the Grief Share brochures on the Narthex kiosk or parish nurse office, or talk to Connie Volling or one of the Pastors. To register, call the church at 474-2537 ext. #116 and leave a message.
